Welcome to the Hartford School Board Website
This website is an effort by the school board to enhance communications with the Town of Hartford community.
One of the roles of the school board is to serve as a liaison between the Hartford School District and the Hartford community. This involves two-way communication. Through this website we hope to engage the community in the work of the school board by providing information on the current school board activities.
The development of this site is ongoing. Any ideas and suggestions are welcomed and should be emailed to dwyers@hartfordschools.net.
If you would like to receive an email when the Hartford School Board agenda is posted and when the most current minutes are posted then please email dwyers@hartfordschools.net.
What the School Board Does
The Hartford School Board is composed of five elected members. Each member is elected for a period of 2 to 3 years.
The most important function of the school board is to set goals, establish policies, provide resources for the school system, set standards and evaluate results, and be an advocate for public education.
The school board is not involved in the direct administration of the school; this is the role of the superintendent and assistant superintendent, both who work closely with the Board.
